Ceiling Maintenance Guide

Simple habits that keep your POP ceiling flawless for 15–20 years — straight from our service team.

Your POP ceiling is a significant investment — and with proper care it can look stunning for 15–20 years. The good news: maintenance is simple if you build a few habits. Here's exactly what our own service team recommends.

1. Regular Dusting (Weekly)

Use a soft microfiber cloth or a ceiling duster weekly. Dust buildup makes white ceilings look dull and grey over time. For high ceilings, a slightly damp mop head on an extension pole works well — never soak the surface.

2. Visual Inspection (Monthly)

Spend one minute scanning for hairline cracks, bulges or discoloured patches. Small cracks are easy to fill early; ignored cracks widen and need section repair. Yellow-brown stains almost always mean water — investigate immediately.

3. Humidity Control (Monsoon)

Mumbai's monsoon is ceiling enemy #1. Run your AC on dry mode for an hour daily during heavy rains, fix any condensation issues, and keep windows closed during downpours — even small moisture exposure damages POP edges over time. More in our monsoon protection guide.

4. Avoid Harsh Chemicals

Never use abrasive cleaners, bleach or solvent-based products on POP. A soft dry cloth or barely damp cloth is all you need. Paint touch-ups should be done with ordinary emulsion, applied lightly.

5. Protect During Renovations

Drilling, painting and plumbing work above or near the ceiling generates dust and impact risk. Cover furniture, and always use a certified ladder setup — leaning ladders against POP cornice breaks the molding instantly.
